My Make Ugly Contest Entry

WOOOOO, finished! And with five minutes to spare. O_____O EHHHHHHHHHH I HATE RUSHING SO MUCH. I misread the due date when I first went through the rules. O______o I'm so so so so so so nervous right now. But I submitted in time, and THAT'S WHAT COUNTS, RIGHT? RIGHT?!?!

Sorry, I'm just a bit stressed out and sleep deprived.

This is pretty close to what I envisioned, only the vision is a more solid, cohesive piece. But, this is satisfactory enough for me to be happy with it! I think the concept is what sells it, not the monster. Here's a rundown on it for you:


Basically, the serpentine horror is made up of the smoke and ash of cigarettes, and it feeds on the souls (the black, sketchy silhouetted people of the crowd on the slopes below it) of dead smokers. The current, living smokers (the well-defined smokers in the front of the crowd) are used by the creature to expand its reach, as its hunger grows steadily as the years pass. As the smokers go about their business, their second-hand poison slowly kills the people around them, and they are then, in turn, food for the beast. And, as smokers have a tendency to reel more people into their bad habit, well... the cycle continues.
